Alexandra Frost offers four ways to work with her: 1:1 sessions, in person in North Adelaide or via telehealth; self-paced online courses for performing artists and medical professionals; workshops and masterclasses for schools, universities, conservatoires, colleges, arts companies and medical colleges; and consulting, for creative productions engaging with mental health themes and for organisations wanting expert input built into how they support their people. No referral is needed for any service; a referral is only relevant for those wanting a Medicare rebate on 1:1 sessions.
What's the difference between these services, and which one is right for me?
It depends on what you need and how much time you have.
1:1 sessions give you individualised, tailored support, either short term or longer term, depending on your situation.
Online courses are self-paced and lower cost, suited to building foundational skills on your own timeline, especially when an intense schedule makes accessing regular sessions difficult.
Workshops and masterclasses are for groups, delivered to a school, company or team in a single session or short series.
Consulting is for productions, organisations and institutions wanting expert input built into how they support the people involved.
Many people start with one type of service and move to another as their needs change. You don’t need to know in advance which one is right for you, working that out together is part of what an initial conversation is for.
Four ways to work together
1:1 Sessions
Individualised support, in person in North Adelaide or via telehealth. Suited to a specific, time-bound need, an audition, exam or hearing weeks out, or to consistent support through a longer preparation period and what’s underneath the performance pressure itself: burnout, identity or trauma. Partners and family members are welcome too, drawing on training as a Systemic Family Therapist.
Online courses
Self-paced, evidence-based courses for performing artists and medical professionals, built on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, somatic regulation and performance psychology research. Lower cost than 1:1 work, and suited to building foundational skills on your own timeline, especially where an intense schedule makes regular sessions difficult. Currently in development, expected to launch in 2027.
Workshops & masterclasses
Delivered to schools, universities, conservatoires, colleges, arts companies and medical colleges, tailored to the group’s specific context rather than a generic lecture. Topics include managing performance anxiety, performance enhancement for artists, and managing exam anxiety for medical and other professionals. Masterclasses also offer a supportive, safe environment to apply psychological skills to performance in real time, complementing 1:1 work or the online courses.
Consulting
Two strands, under one umbrella. Project consultation supports theatre, cabaret, dance, music, film and other productions engaging with mental health themes, both to ensure accurate, responsible representation on stage or screen, and to support the wellbeing of artists engaging with difficult material as part of their work. Organisational and EAP-style delivery provides ongoing, confidential clinician access for arts organisations, medical colleges and businesses with high-stakes performance cultures, including workplace mental health response when something happens in the moment and further support is needed.
How do I get started?
If you’re facing something time-sensitive, an exam, audition or hearing coming up soon, mention that when you get in touch and we’ll look at what’s genuinely possible within your timeframe. Some international clients can also be accommodated via telehealth, depending on time difference, insurance coverage and how much notice is given.
You don’t need a referral to access any of these services, you can self-refer directly. A referral only becomes relevant if you want to access a Medicare rebate for 1:1 sessions, which requires a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. Not everyone will qualify, that’s a determination your GP will make, and many clients choose to access support outside the Medicare system using private health insurance or paying directly.
